I have many years of municipal administrative experience in the following areas: salesmanship, employee retention, organizational behavior, economic growth, grant writing, political relationships, management, budgeting, marketing and much more.  I have held a leadership position with every job I have ever held beginning in high school, and proudly have never been terminated.  I enjoy being active in the communities and organizations I serve(d).

Work History

City Manager/Administrator/Utilities Superintendent, City of Salisbury, 2000 To Feb. 1, 2025 (Recently Retired).  I managed the day-to-day operations of the City of Salisbury, MO, including water and sewer systems/plants, electric services (transmission, distribution, service, and substation work), business offices, streets, stormwater, emergency response, parks and more. My main function was to delegate the wishes directed toward me from various City and non-City groups including City Council, Board of Public Works, Park Board, Police Board, Library Board, Golf Course Board, Fire Department, Chamber of Commerce, Community Betterment, and other Local, County, State and Federal associations. I supervised staff, oversaw budgeting and finance processes, wrote and co-wrote multiple grants, and served on varied local, regional and state organizations related to municipal governance.  I was also the go-to person to strategize and oversee project management activities.  I am a proficient operator of all City-owned equipment (bucket trucks (singles and doubles), digger derricks, dump trucks, tractors, backhoes, loaders, skid steers/attachments, reel trailers, underground locators, trenchers, vacs, graders, welding/cutting, sewer jetters/cameras, megawatt generators, etc.) and familiar with other equipment (excavators, dozers, boring rigs, well drilling rigs, cranes,  etc.).

Adjunct Professor, William Woods University (WWU), 2006 To 2013.  Taught master's and bachelor's level adult/evening continuing education classes in the areas of business, marketing, ethics, international business, organizational behavior, Capstone Project, and more.  I was asked to teach after completing the bachelor's and master's program with a 4.0 in each and an academic excellence achievement recognition.  Outreach locations included Chillicothe, Trenton, Columbia, Jefferson City, Hannibal, and Thomas Hill Power Plant.  WWU went to on-campus only education format.

Store/Unit Manager, Orscheln Farm and Home (abt.) 1993 To 2000.  Responsible for all operation of a large retail farm store, including scheduling, hiring, finances, budgeting, human resources, ordering and more. I also was selected to help set up and mentor new store openings/managers and received many awards and rewards for top sales, annual growth, merchandising displays, new product expansions and more.

Hired Hand Lead, King Hill Farms (abt.) 1985 To 2013.  Worked full-time many summers, part-time year-round, weekends during pecan season, and when called upon.  Oversaw other hired hands while operating equipment, hoeing beans and produce, harvesting fruits and vegetables, processing and selling pecans, and many other farm related activities as directed.
